Posted by Jonathan Loving - 25 Nov 12:15AM (edited 25 Nov 12:17AM) If You are working professionally with Sibelius, and occasionally need mockups, You might find You suddenly have less use for Your sequencer and have more time to do other things. I have experience with another brand samplelibrary, and haven´t been able to produce anything even close to this quality. The usability of the EW stuff straight out of the box really speeds the process, very real sound without resorting to external processing.
For the first time, mockups from Sibelius actually sounded very full and complete. The situation would be different if I would produce music for another use, of course.ĭon´t mean to put other samplelibraries down, but I just finished doing couple of string arrangements for an upcoming album, and did mockups straight from Sibelius. I find working with a notation program much more intuitive to a sequencer, as I also get to hear/record much of my writing´s results with live players. Now that the soundset is in working condition, You don´t even have to bother about the technicalities so much. Despite these limitations, it is already possible to create mockups of a very high quality, straight from the Sibelius, using standard musical terms. Re: EWQLSO Sibelius Sound Set Now Availableįirst, to Jon, deepest appreciation for the huge and detailed work You´ve done! This is no small task, and Your attention to detail has brought this soundset project to a working state (no need for Sibelius 6 yet, Mr Cernuska!)Īs Jon describes in the manual for the soundset, there are some limitations that have to be dealt with, with a library of such large scope. My only reason for this is that I can't guarantee how often I'll be checking the forums and may miss your comments or questions.Ĭross Posted on the East West and Northern Sounds Forums
I welcome any questions, comments, or suggestions you have in regard to the Sound Sets, but ask that you contact me directly to share these rather than using the forums as the sole means of discussion. These are based on the PLAY Sound Sets, but modified for compatibility with the original programming. In addition to the PLAY Edition, Sound Sets for all versions of the Native Instruments powered Orchestra will be available at some point in the future for Kontakt 2 or Kontakt 3 users. Numerous Sound Sets were created while trying to find the best way to incorporate the Symphonic Orchestra library, and I'm confident these completed Sound Sets balance ease of use with flexibility in order to provide the best experience possible. Work on these Sound Sets dates back to March of this year. I am very pleased to announce Sibelius Sound Sets for all versions of the EWQL Symphonic Orchestra PLAY Edition are now available for download.
